The project applies several research methods: geophysical survey, sedimentological, pedological, mineralogical and micromorphological analyses combined with high-resolution pollen analyses on natural and anthropic stratigraphies, stable isotopes studies on terrestrial cores, geochemical analyses on speleothems, archaeobotanical and molecular (ancient DNA) analyses on sub-fossil seeds/fruits, dendrochronology of wood remains, U/Th and C14 datings.
